The Third High-Level Symposium of Think Tanks of China and Central and Eastern European Countries


The Third High—Level Symposium of Think Tanks of China and Central and Eastern European Countries was held on December 16th, Beijing. The theme of the symposium is “From Suzhou Summit onwards: Think Tank Exchanges in Support of 16+1 Cooperation”. Senior officials, former veteran diplomats, presidents of domestic and foreign think tanks, senior scholars from China and the Central and Eastern European countries gathered in Beijing to discuss about further promotion of exchanges of think tanks between China and Central and Eastern European countries in order to provide intellectual support to the 16+1 cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.Wang Weiguang, President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Liu Haixing, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Liu Guchang, Director-General of China Foundation for International Studies gave keynote speeches.


In order to implement the proposal of Premier Li Keqiang during his visit to Serbia in December 2014, CASS has set up China-CEEC Think Tanks Network. The unveiling ceremony of China-CEEC Think Tanks Network was also be held during the symposium, Victor Ponta, Former Premier of Romania and Wang Weiguang, President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, inaugurated the Network together.
