THE INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS OF THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF BELARUS

Founded in March 1931 under the guidance of The Belarusian Academy of
Sciences, the Institute of Economics of the NASB is the leading economic
research center of Belarus and unites highly-skilled economists of
different specialties. The Institute has over 140 employees. It’s
scientific staff includes about 90 researchers with 5 Doctors of
Sciences and 33 Candidates of Sciences (equivalent to Ph.D.) among them.

For over 80 years, the Institute of Economics has continuously played a
leading role in research, education, and public service and conducted
basic and applied research on vital issues of national and global
economy. Nowadays the Institute continues to be intellectually healthy.
New ideas and new directions in economic research are being developed
and pursued with vigor.

The rich gained experience and high authority allow the Institute to be
involved in developing practical recommendations for the Belarusian
government bodies on various practical issues of socio-economic
policies. The Institute carries out an expertise of drafts of economic
laws and regulations and provides advisory support for major scientific,
technological and socio-economic development programs.

Currently the Institute of Economics is taking efforts to expand the
range of its core activities. We offer high-quality expertize and
appraisal on innovation and investment projects for businesses. We are
also glad to develop joint projects with scientific institutions around
the world. International scientific collaboration and interaction with
business sector are determined to become the major priorities of
organization’s development in the following years.
