Liu Qibao unveils China-CEE Institute in Hungary
Liu Qibao, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the launching ceremony of the China-CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) Institute on April 24 in Hungary.

The launching ceremony was held in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and 16+1 Think Tank Cooperation and Exchange Network. Wang Weiguang, the president of CASS and honorary president of the China-CEE Institute, also attended the ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.
The institute is the first Chinese think tank independently registered in Europe. CASS President Wang Weiguang said during his speech that academic exchanges and think tank cooperation is an important dimension of people-to-people exchange between China and CEE countries. The institute would promote exchanges through field study, joint research, conferences, seminars and lectures. An academic committee will be set up, and leading scholars from China and CEE countries will be members of the committee, he added.

Huang Ping, director of the Institute of European Studies of CASS, serves as the president of the China-CEE Institute.
After the launching ceremony, a symposium titled “China-CEEC Cooperation: Joint Efforts to Address Common Challenges” was held. Experts and scholars from China and CEE countries discussed the common challenges and solutions of China-CEEC cooperation.
